David Marcus has competed in both 3-day eventing and show jumping but it was the discipline of dressage that captivated him. David started training with Cindy and Neil Ishoy in 1996. He competed 5 times with two different horses, winning both silver and bronze medals at the North American Young Rider Championships. In addition to numerous winning rides for the NAYRC he is also a USDEF silver and bronze medalist and has lots of year end awards. His extensive show ring experience allows David to pass on his skills onto his students. Under his guidance DMD clients have won classes, championships and awards. David also coached the Canadian representative at the 2009 FEI Young Rider World Cup in Frankfurt, Germany. In addition to his expert coaching, his talent in the saddle makes him one of the most sought after trainers and riders for young horses in the country. He was most recently hand picked by the Hanoveraner Verband to be the official test rider at the Eastern Canadian mare performance test. He just returned from wintering in Florida training with Robert Dover, the Canadian Team coach. He has also been featured in Canada’s magazine, Horse Sport as one of dressage’s rising stars.
