First Dressage Show of the Season Draws Record Number of Entries

2009-05-28

So many people wanted to participate in Dressage New Brunswick's first competition of the season on May 23-24 that show organizers had to bring in a second judge and start each day at 7:a.m. to accommodate everyone. Interest in the sport, which showcases the grace and beauty of well trained horses performing in harmony with their riders, continues to grow each year.

"Kudos to the DeGarie family," said judge Susan Fraser from Nova Scotia. "They have kept the sport alive and growing in New Brunswick." Fraser explained that the family actively promoted the sport and helped to encourage and increase membership in Dressage New Brunswick. Competitors at this event came from the three Maritime provinces.

The next dressage event at the PLP Show Centre will be held on July 25-26 and will include the very popular Freestyle Extravaganza competition. Spectators will have the opportunity to enjoy watching horses and riders 'dancing' together through carefully choreographed routines set to music.
